this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm guessing the bye week will give duece time to rest and be ready to go against baltimore. Have yall heard anything??...

RE: duece
That is what I heard...He has not been on the NFL injury report...I think we will know something when the practices for this week are over
I think Deuce's injury, besides the play of Brees, Horn and the Dfense, impacted this game the most...Had he not gone down I think the 3rd & 4th quarter comeback of the Eagles would have been too little too late...He was running well against them until he went down...it was awesome seeing him come in on the last drive for the much needed 3rd down conversion |

Deuce said it was just tightening up and he went in for stretching. He's fine last I heard.

Thank goodness it was only tightening up on him. IMO Deuce and Brees are our 2 most critcal players, we lose either of them and we could be hurting. Reggie is great in his own way but he'll never be able to take the pounding of running between the tackles, week in and week out, like Deuce can. Steckler is ok, but he's no "Deuce". As far as Brees goes at least we have a capable back up for him in Jamie Martin. I saw him play last year and he looked pretty good. But if Brees goes down his leadership and smart play will be missed. All in all the bye couldn't have come at a better time, I just hope we don't lose momentum.

I noticed how the offense wasn't quite as good when Deuce was taken out of the Eagles game but soon as he came back in the offense went back to moving the ball well down the field.
Not saying that the Saints couldn't win without him but it sure would be more difficult to win without him in the lineup.. |

I am excited we have Bush but I am getting tired of hearing commentators say this offense is good cuz of the Brees Bush & Horn and leave out Deuce. They need to stop saying cuz of Bush, Deuce is getting loose. I will hate for Duece to get a big ego and stop being a team player. It is plain and simple this offense function better if Deuce is in the backfield. Don't get me wrong, I like payton is rotating him in & out, but to not be mention as the reason for the saints success is wrong.

Yeah Deuce is underrated right know but just give him a few more weeks when he is still in the top of the league with TDS and yards... they will start to relize DEUCE is back !!!

I think he is under-rated by many as well...I do wish they would put stecker on the practice squad and call up Branch...I keep thinking someone is going to watch those game types and sign him when they're RB goes down
