Ravens Pre-Game Warmup
Baltimore is what? Defense and just enough offense. That is all I am reading.
I agree with the offense side. As long as the Ravens play like they have all year, So-So, we are in for at least 13 points from this team. The so called expert say McNair will benfit from Billick calling the plays. Look for them to roll Steve out more than ever. He has been sacked 10 times so far this season. throwing 5 TD's and 7 int. he is averaging 152.5 yds a game and his longest pass is 38 yards. I read this as a QB with alot defenders in his face. No wonder they would move the pocket around to protect him. As for the running game Lewis is averaging just 59 yards a game and found pay dirt once. He has only two runs longer than 20+ yards. OL again? I think it safe to say. Now for that defense. They have probly the best DL and LB in the game. The secondary is not shabbie either. they are giving up only 252 yards a game. 181 thru the air and 71 on the ground. man what numbers. But I have to look at who they have played also. @Tampa Bay Won 27-0 enough said we all know thier problems all to well. Oakland Won 28-6 one win and that was last week @Cleveland Won 15-14 we know this team also San Diego Won 16-13 San Diego blew this one. They lost faith in Rivers in the second half and played "Marty Ball". Though the last drive shows what McNair can do. @Denver Lost 3-13 Heck Denver has not scored over 20 pts. yet. this was a good defense match up. So-So offenses led to the slaughter Carolina Lost 21-23 This was a funny game. If not for a few hot potatoes they loss 7-23. throw that out. Steve was out by the second. Carolina was up 13-7 at the half. My point is simple 21 to 28 points can be scored on them by us as long as we are playing saints ball. Run enough to keep the Defense honest with a big runs thrown in and we have done our job. That will allow Drew to us his short to mid range passing game to set up the 2 or 3 long strike attempt like he did in the Eagles Game. The Ravens are going hit us. Glad the Eagles came to town to warm us up for the hitting. Prediction 120 yards rushing 1 TD and 1 fumble 220 passing 1 TD 25/35 and 1 int. Karney kicks 4 FG Saints 26 Ravens 17 Key is limting the turnovers. no more than 3. Offensively I look for Henderson to be the wild card for the game. As well as the TEs. |

RE: Ravens Pre-Game Warmup
If the Ravens don't score at least 21 points they don't have a prayer in beating us, the Saints will score 28+ points against the Ravens D.
The Ravens win games with their defense so the Saints better come out fighting, IMO this will be the biggest test for our offense. |

Baltimore's vaunted defense has managed only one sack in each of the past three games, and gave up 365 yards passing to Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme.
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/previe...0061029_BAL@NO maybe I low balled the passing numbers a bit. |

RE: Ravens Pre-Game Warmup
Not sure if you watched the game between the Ravens & Broncos 3 weeks ago, T. Bell ran the ball for 92 yards against the Ravens defense, he didn't have a TD that night, his longest run was for 17 yards, on two plays Bell knocked the hell out of Ray Lewis, Ray had no where to go but to the ground, the Ravens only scored 3 points against the Broncos. (not much offense)
The Ravens defense played well against the pass though, Plummer (13-24 106 , 1 TD & 1 int.) was rushed all night, Javon Walker only had 63 yards without a TD, his longest reception was for 27 yards, but I still think the Saints score at least 28 on the Ravens. |
Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.

I dont see the saints scoring 28 points...but i see them capitalizing on turnovers by the Ravens. I think Brees will make good decisions and you will see him dump the ball off alot. I still say 21-6 Saints. It will be a dogfight.

I would be happy with a 21-6 win over the Ravens, a co-worker of mine said the Saints won't win and if we do we won't win by more than 7 ..

From what my fellow Saints say on hip pocket analysis, this is what I've gleaned:
1) a solid RB can control the clock on these guys 2) Brees will have time to deliver the pass with the pass rush they have PROVIDED they are short timing patterns 3) keep it tight on special teams and prevent the huge play they seem to require to score and of course, 4) NO TURNOVERS Looks like a winner to me boys, especially coming off a bye week with everyone fresh! (Slap me when this one is over if they win this one. I STILL can't believe we're looking this good this season. My pre-season prediction was 9-7 tops. Happily, I will have to amend that!) |

This truely is a game we could win with feild-goals. Although I want touchdown to make a statement.
