THE MEASURING STICK:
People, including NFL Scouts must pay too much freakin attention on the big time NCAA programs. 21 years ago, Jerry Rice, very small school, got drafted 16th overall by the 49ers. Does that mean Jerry Rice would have been drafted about where Colston got picked in this year's draft? That's pretty messed up. Hopefully the Saints FO can capitalize on small schools in the draft again in following years. FANTASY: Colston's #'s remind me of another rookie sleeper at WR that rocked the fantasy football world a few years ago - Anquan Boldin. Fantasy Football people around the country have to love this guy, and both Boldin and Colston are an illustration of how important it is to have good waiver position in the first two weeks of the season. PRO BOWL: Think there's a chance Colt can make the Pro Bowl? I think he's got a shot. The locks in NFC at WR are Holt and Steve Smith. Who knows with T.O. But after Holt, Smith. Santana Moss and Roy Williams, and Boldin are doing well, but their teams are struggling. Fitzgerald is hurt. I don't know if Darrell Jackson will have the #'s at the end of year w/ Hasselbeck out. So that leaves Colt and Plaxico Burress. |

Screw Rookie of the Week, Colston's Rookie of the Month of October. Well, actually don't screw RotW, every award is nice, and helps keep him in the minds of ProBowl voters (Players/Coaches). |
