jesus f^*()g christ!!!! no one "gave up" on anyboy!!!!! get a clue!! it's called cautious optimism.... got it?! you two sound like a broken record, and oh by the way gold rush, no gives a rat's ass whether you've been a fan for 20 years or 20 minutes, it makes you no smarter, better, more devoted, etc. than anyone else here.... i guess it makes you feel better to act like you're "enduring the struggle" rather than voicing your concern or dissatisfaction... whatever....

You just made my point for me. I have been a fan just as long as most of the other fans on here.

This is exactly why I was so shocked at how despondent and down a lot of people were on the Baltimore game, as if we haven't endured far more humiliating losses than that. This wasn't Tim Couch beating us on a hail mary pass to get his first win. This wasn't Joey Harrington torching us for 250 yards and 3 TDs or whatever. This was a well respected, established team with an outstanding defense. Of course I wanted us to win and was highly disappointed about losing, as I am with losing any game. However stepping back and looking at the game and who we were facing, I can accept the loss.

Maybe I was out of line for saying people were giving up on the team. I just wish folks could look at things from a football standpoint instead of saying things like "here come the same ol Saints", and you can't deny that there was a lot of that going on this past week. NOTHING about this team resembles anything of the years past other than the fact that they wear the same uniforms.

As if we don't have enough outsiders taking shots at us, we have to take shots at our own team???

whether it resembles the "past saints" or not, it's still possible that a team goes on a roll early on in the season, then looks at the standings and figures they can drop a couple of games and then before you know it, they miss the postseason b/c they dropped one too many games.... i DO NOT want that to happen to us.... i'm ecstatic that we were 5-1 and was still very, very happy that were 5-2, but at the same time, was very cautious that the players and fans may feel that we had a "cushion" of games that would be ok to drop, when really we didn't.... i have never, and will never give up on the saints.... if i've come this far, why, esp. w/ the infusion of exciting, talented players, would i give up on them now, when they are 5-2 and in first place of the nfc south? i was expressing concern, but not writing them off completely....

i wasn't humiliated with the loss to the ravens, as much as i was upset that we killed ourselves... that happened last year with haslett's team, but for this year's team to do the same, i was taken aback and pissed off at the same time... i felt like someone had played a cruel joke on me, like they let a good team sub for the saints for a couple of weeks and then replaced them w/ the real saints vs. the ravens.... maybe a little premature, but i'd rather get concerned and voice it now, rather than cry about it at the end of the regular season watching some teams other than my beloved saints in the playoffs
