Theismann: I think you have to take a look at the New Orleans Saints as the favorite in the NFC. We saw them play their second game against an opponent for the first time this season and instead of the Tampa Bay Bucs exposing flaws and finding a way to beat them, the Saints easily defeated the Bucs even without star receiver Joe Horn. The Saints' biggest flaw offensively is their occasional overreliance on getting Reggie Bush the ball. But the defense has played excellent this season, while quarterback Drew Brees is putting up an MVP-caliber season.

I'm no one.
Who are you?

Theismann isn't the only one. Merrill Hodge picked the Saints to go to the Superbowl today! San Diego vs. New Orleans is his prediction. That's honestly the first time I've EVER heard anyone on ESPN pick the Saints to go to the Superbowl, since the channel was established. It's starting to get crazy folks. Although, I really hope he is right!

Whoa!!!!!!!!! San Diego vs. Saints.

That would be quite a poetic matchup, so many new ties between these teams,
But the mentor storyline of Reggie v. LT. , Drew v. Rivers, reminds me of a certain young padawan learner and fellow jedi,

Who does not also see the resemblance between Sean Payton and Luke Skywalker circa New Hope? Can we get a side-by-side picture contest, mods?

I'm just sayin...

Funny. My Brother and I were talking about this exact quote yesterday.

Actually he isn't. He's been picking the Saints since week 3 on his weekly picks and talking about them in terms of the NFC's best.

The rest of them are definitly bandwagonners. But Theismann isn't.

Wasn't there an equally trite thread on this same stupid quote earlier?

I would love to be in the Super Bowl against since I am just up the road from SD. I like our chances better against Indy, SD will kill us after they juice up on Sterroids. I also look forward to seeing a Manning vs Manning Super Bowl as well.
