Colston vs. Anquan
1. Marques Colston is on pace for an Anquan Boldin rookie season and it may even be better by year's end. Colston, who reminds me of a young Keyshawn Johnson, entered Week 9 as the top rookie receiver with 577 yards and six touchdowns. Johnson then turned in a great performance on the road against the Tampa Bay defense with 11 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. Colston was a seventh-round pick because he 'wasn't fast,' as one personnel director said today. The same comment was made by the same person back in 2003 about Anquan Boldin. Boldin had 101 receptions as a rookie and I remembered saying it might be time to look at speed a little different. Well, Colston got by every team in the league -- at least six times each for the same reasons -- and now he is on track to be the 2006 version of Boldin.
Boldin and Colston rookie totals after nine games Player (Year) Receptions Yards Average TDs Anquan Boldin ('03) 48 790 16.4 3 Marques Colston ('06) 44 700 15.9 7 http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9782665 |

RE: Colston vs. Anquan
I read the article. I liked it, but the editors made a mistake. Colston's numbers are for only EIGHT games and they're compairing him to Boldin's NINE week stats. Maybe it was meant to say after nine weeks, not games.

Rookie of the year, he's running away with it..
If would really be sweet if he's rookie of the year and makes the Pro-Bowl along with Brees.. |

RE: Colston vs. Anquan
4 picks away from Mr. Irrelevant becoming Rookie of the Year would be an amazing story.

The kid is legit. With Joe Horn out last week, Colston matched up against a good corner in Ronde Barber and I'm sure he must have drew some double teams. And he answered with 11 catches and a TD!
