Looks as Though McPherson Was Never in Paytons Plan.........
MCPHERSON RELEASED: In another roster move that went unannounced last month, the Saints released quarterback Adrian McPherson. The former fifth-round draft pick had been on injured reserve because of a knee injury he suffered in a freak accident during halftime of the team's preseason opener at Tennessee.
McPherson was struck by a golf cart driven by the Titans' mascot. Because of the injury, the second-year project never had a chance to play in the preseason. But he was a long shot to crack the roster anyway. "It wasn't injury-related. We were just going in a different direction," Payton said. "From a quarterback standpoint, we felt like there were certain things we were looking for. He was a hard worker, a guy that I think worked at it. The evaluation took place over a long period of time, and we felt like we were better off going in a different direction." http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...930.xml&coll=1 |

It wasn't unannounced because I remember seeing that back when he was released. There just wasn't a lot of fanfare.

He's too athletic not to be a ball player. Heck if Marcus Vick can make that transition to WR and make a living... I don't see why Adrian can't. Worst comes to worse he can go back to the Arena League or play in the CFL. Good luck to him.
Oh well smitty... you're Adrian and my Lyman are goners. 8) |

We wont be drafting a player like him for a long time to come. He was exciting. I think Payton and Loomis go for lots o' D in the next draft...
