Vinny will never be mentioned in the same breath as Montana or even Favre, but I give him props for his longevity. I don't think you can call ANYONE who's lasted 19 years in ANY sport a "bust".

And you really can't call anyone with 45000+ yds and 260 something TDs a bust.

As for Vinny, Parcells was once quoted as saying Vinny's arm would still be NFL-caliber "at 60".
I thought he was 60.

Testaverde signed with New England at age 43, will dress Sunday.
Enough already, he's done IMO
How done do you have to be to stand on the sidelines and hold a clipboard?

As for actually playing Vinnie can still throw the ball. He just can't move or take a hit. So you'd have to max protect.

Starter in the NFL? Not a chance.

Backup insurance? Why not?

All I know is I took great pleasure in sending the link on to a co-worker friend / Patriots fan out in California.

Why? It's not like he's going in the starting lineup tomorrow......if anything, his experience should be an added plus from the sidelines. The Pats had 2 QBs, now they have 3. Nothing much has changed.

The Raiders should have thought about this one before they signed Jeff George in the preseason. Had Testeverde signed, though, it would have been his death wish with that porous offensive line.
