Who's responsible for our draft success?

I can't remember when a draft class has approached the level of play we've gotten from our rookies this season.

Of course Payton has a different philosophy then Haslett did/does, but Rick Mueller is still doing much of the college player evaluations.

So, is it that Payton is having Mueller look for different attributes than Haslett was?

Was Mueller, pre-Payton, not doing a good job of evaluation, or were his hands being tied?

Seems like a curious situation since our drafts the last few years haven't been very deep production wise, and this year has been totally different, but with the same guy (Mueller) in charge of the scouting.
