Defensive Back of the Game...

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I nominate the Falcons WR's as the DB's of the Game. If they hold onto the ball, it's a different game. Craft may have made a couple plays yesterday, but he was the DB who kept going for about 5yds ...

Craft may have made a couple plays yesterday, but he was the DB who kept going for about 5yds when the WR stopped and got hit in the chest with the ball. He catches that, scores easily, and who knows.

Glad to see that I'm not the oly one that saw that. Yeah Craft is good at tackling guys from behind. The best DB's of the game for us was the Atlanta Receivers. That ball that bounced off the receivers hands, craft was still running into the endzone chasing ghosts.

What about the HAMMER, Bellamy?

There was an off tackle run to the strong side and this homing missle comes in over the blocker and annhialates the HB. I said, "Wow! Who the heck was that?" Of course, it was Bellamy. That guy is serious. I know he's older, but man he really gives our D some serious intimidation factor. It was nice to see him pumped up and happy to be playing again. We're gonna need him the rest of the way becuase Stoutmire makes some goofy plays that hurt us that Bellamy doesn't.

Whatever happened to Scott
He was doubtful for the game because of a foot injury. Craft did play well, but I think our DBs are still not as good as the passing yards made them seem. Those WRs catch those dropped balls and the story is totally different. We got lucky.

I still dont like Craft..... still think Thomas is better #2.... if Falcons caught them balls roddy white micheal jenkins they might have scored... and the note on Stoudimire did I not see Bellamy in the Game in the 4th quarter.... he looked alot better back there than Stoud....

Craft is fast! He bites too much on play action & gets faked easily in routes, but he has very good speed. I don't care for his play most of the time, but he did play well this weekend. If Thomas is still out for the Dallas game, Craft will have to play Glenn because he can keep up with him (speed wise) & McKenzie will have to play T.O. because he would man-handle Craft. Anyway.....Kudos to Mr. Craft. It was the best I've seen him play in his career (which still isn't saying much).

As for the play of our safeties......they aren't helping much in coverage. Stoutmire bites on everything! Play Bellamy! Bullocks has his moments, but is still sub-par. It makes me appreciate the play we got out of Roman Harper before the injury. Maybe he wasn't such a bad 2nd round pick, although I still would have preferred Ko Simpson or Dawan Landry. Anyway.....Harper's play is severely missed at the safety spot.

defensive backs ?????????????

our defensive backs suck. all the good receivers they have gone against have made them look silly. bullocks and harper will be above average safties in a couple years. craft, mckenzie, deloatch, groce not yuor household names for dbs. serious issues to address for not season
