5 games left with 4 against playoff contenders
While pundits might say that we've got a very long row to hoe, here's how we stand:
SF (5-6) A surprising team that might give the Saints fits if looked beyond. Not a great offense, not a great defense, but sound and they play to the whistle. This should be a win because they've been torched by capable qb's. Saints 31-17. Dallas (7-4) This game may determine whether the Saints have a bye in the first round. Another mobile qb, but unlike ATL, this guy can throw the ball and his receivers can catch. We can't win in a shootout. Boys 38-31. Skins (4-7) Pride only goes so far. The Saints have too many weapons. Here's where the team hits 9-5. Saints 31-14. The GEE-Men (7-4) Can you say home field for the 1st round? Gotta have this road game. Saints 27-24 Punthers (6-5) After that shocking loss to the Skins, who knows whether they'll be there at the end. Better bet they are and whomever wins, wins the division, the other gets a seat on the couch for the playoffs. 10-6 may not make it given that there are 11 teams in the NFC still in it. Saints 24-14. And 11-5 gives us a tie with the Cowboys, but they win the 1st tiebreaker and stay home for the 1st round. At least we win the division and get a home playoff game. Come on D, don't make me look stupid. |

I think they have to win the games they should win, the SF, Skins and Panthers, that would put them 10-6, not sure if we can beat the Cowboys but as of right now they might have a good chance in beating the Giants..
A first round bye would be sweet... |

I see y'alls points but, theres not an unwinnable game left on our schedule as long as we don't beat ourselves. Turnovers are the biggest reason we have 4 losses. If we can hold on to the ball theres no one we can't beat, though there are a couple of teams I'd rather not play, lol. But they aren't on the schedule either.

Right now the Saints are second in the NFC, because of their NFC record. I hope they can atleast keep that.

OK, one major correction. With the GEE-men having an historic (for them) collapse, they are not 7-4 as I assumed, they are now 6-5. As far as I can tell, there are 5 NFC teams that are now 5-6; there are 6 teams 6-5 or better. 9-7 may be a lock for a playoff birth. The NFC South has a lot of tough games ahead, and each team will get at least another loss. 10-6 probably clinches the division title.

Mark my words...
We will WHIP the Dallas Cowboys. I think the two toughest opponents for us the rest of the year will be the Giants and Redskins. Yes I know, the Redskins. I think they'll have this Tennessee Titan type resurgence with Jason Campbell. |

we still owe the Giants for that "home loss" last year. If the NFL had any balls they would have put the Giants game in our Dome to make up for last year's debacle.

I don't think we'll run the table, but we do owe the Giants BIG TIME for that BS game last year, and Dallas may have cooled off a bit by the time we get there. SF is showing they can run the ball, and that's worrysome for me. Let's just worry about next week...

The next five games will separate the men from the boys. During the stretch run a team must win the big games as well as the little games. This Saints team has the weapons to do whatever is necessary, it's a matter of execution and protecting the football. No turnovevers in the Falcons game resulted in a big win. So bring on the best that the NFL has to offer and see how we come out, after all making the playoffs is just part of the picture, winning is the other! Go Saints!!!

It would be nice for the Saints to take it the Cowboys. Seeing how many ex-Cowboys are on the Saints it is feasible. Plus a little humbling of Tony Romo is in tall order. This would be my defensive breakout day. By that week I hope any DB inconsistencies will be ironed out. Just escape the 49er game with no or minmal injuries.
