I heard on WWL this afternoon (Wednesday) that the black pants have been ordered but have not come in yet, according to a source in the Saints front office.

Agreed. They wear gold helmets and gold pants just like us. Payton already did the white jerseys at home to make receivers easy to see, so this makes sense.

I actually like the black pants, white jersey road unis from a few years back.
One of those years, you never knew what we would come out wearing....all black....black pants with gold jerseys, those throwbacks. I liked it.

As far as petitioning the league, I'm not sure how much of a factor that is. We have kept it pretty vanilla for a few years now while other teams bust out different combos all the time. Hell, the cowboys have different helmets they wear.

They were discussing this topic on the BIG 870 about a month ago, and from what I remember of the conversation, they basically said we were good to go with the league for black pants, and they were waiting for the company to produce them for the team... if the opposing team okayed it, we could wear black on black... Bobbie Hebert was hoping they would play Back in Black by AC/DC at the game...
