Uh oh, whodi, looks like a 3-4

With so many defensive linemen out, the only defense which may utilize the most fresh bodies would be a 3-4. Run blitzes and zone blitzes with this defensive scheme may be the only way to see a win in the last 4 games without Smith, Hollis and Whitehead

ok, bring it on!

yeah I think that is a problem I am noticing on D, we are playing way to much man to man and need more zones.

Let's see how Leslie and lake do with significant playing time. Leslie might turn out to be effective, if not great.

Euph, we've got far too many slow and/or inexperienced players in the secondary to play a really effective zone behing blitz packages. Without an efective pass rush we're giving up yards. As John Madden is famous of saying, if you can play man-to-man, why play anything else? In our case, it's not a question of 'can'; it's more like 'must'.

Well let me give you a number to counter the man to man argument: Ocho Cinco. Poor Freddie Thomas was toasted worse than a pop tart in that Cinncinati game. Craft didn't do much better. Think about the TD in the Pittsburg game.

I'd feel better if they didn't bit on those double moves. Even if their firm rule is "keep the man and the ball in front of me, even if that means I have to let them catch the ball in front of me." I could live with it.
