Is it just me, or are the Bears very beatable?
Did anyone else watch that game last night and come away completely unimpressed? The Rams offense did very well against that vaunted defense, and the Bears offense didn't look spectacular against a pathetic defense (led by Haslett, surprise surprise). Hester was what kept them energized and in the game (like when they squeaked out a win against the Cardinals). I think they're one and done in the playoffs if they play a decent team. They have such a high defensive ranking because they've played a cupcake schedule against bad teams. Is it wrong to watch a game like last night and think the Saints would stomp them?

I don't know about stomping but I like our chances against them. Brees is a smart quarterback and we have the weapons to compete with them. Get pressure on Grossman and we'll hold our own. Our tackles have handled some of the best DE's out there this year... I don't see how we couldn't contain their ends. One thing I know for sure is that I rather not play in Soldier field during the winter. A definate advantage for them.

We're operating under the assumption that the Bears can get out of a divisional playoff game at home. Whichever of the teams from the wild card weekend that comes into Soldier field will be battle tested. There's no guarantee that the Bears will overcome a good playoff team.

The equalizer for the Bears will be playing outdoors at Soldier Field in January. There's not many places worse. However, what's good for the goose isn't very good for the fundamentally incapable, and the Chicago offense will be totally ineffective with Grossman at the helm in that environment. I'd take 8 in the box vs Chicago at Chicago and hope the offense does anything than put them on the road in a dome.

I agree with SaintFanInAtlHell. The bears have three easy games to finish the season, Bucs, Packers, & Lions, then the bye. They could very possibly be one and done in the playoffs. NFC championship game in the dome? It could happen.

I'm hoping for a delicious Brees vs. San Diego SB. Not that it would be a 'revenge' marquee but the media will have a field day with this.

And we will have Carolina in the Dome in a very emotional payback scenario that could well indeed determine crucial playoff seedings.
Go Saints. This is the year if there was one. |

The Skins are dead in the water and their defense has been abysmal. The Giants? There's a definite revenge factor going for that "home game" crap last year. Carolina will not win in the dome. Their defense is hurting badly, their offense has been terrible, and they've just regressed completely.
I think this may be the year the Saints win a championship. |

Take away those two Kick Returns for scores (which our special teams will never allow) and those bears look even more beatable.
