This sounds eerily familiar

With all the talk on this board about Superbowl this and NFC South champion that I am having flashbacks from last week here in Dallas. Cowboy fans were shouting the same thing. Now I hope you all are right, but with three weeks left in the season it is way too early to be talking Superbowl. I just hope the players don't read the papers too much about how good they are or they might get their butts handed to them by the Redskins. Hopefully Payton reminds them of this.

Difference is, they were here shouting about it, and we're not somewhere else talking trash about the superbowl. What happens in this house, stays in this house, so drink and talk all you want, if it doesn't happen we'll cry together.

At least we're not trashy and in everyone else's face.

RE: This sounds eerily familiar

Goodpoint Stockman,

Do you think the Redskins are saying to themselves "hey look guys, head to head I think we can take the Saints" ? ? ? ...NOOOOO thats not what they`re saying, they`re saying "We better bring our A game PLUS every razzle dazzle and trick play we know or this Saints offense will embarrass us worse than Dallas" "We better create fumbles, bring blitz packs on Brees, cause INT`s, and have big plays on special teams" <<< thats what the Skins are saying, and thats what they`re gonna bring to the dome. Throw the Redskins game film out the window. Gibbs knows if he brings the usual tendencies that Payton will take them apart like a blooming onion. So this sunday, expect the unexpected from the Skins. What have they got to loose? nothin'

Payton has this team well grounded and undercontrol. I don't think any of his players will be talking trash. If you get in his doghouse he will just put someone else in there to do the job, look how everybody on this team has stepped up when we had someone go down, we have excellent backups.

I also belleve that the players have completely bought in to the Payton system and Payton has their respect, makes a big difference when team is asked to do the impossible.

Living here in Northern Virginia, I'm waist-deep in coverage of the 'Skins. Now, I haven't talked smack all year, nor will I on Sunday afternoon, win or lose......

But the Skins have nothing to play for, except maybe their jobs, so they will be motivated to throw a wrench in our season.

The thing I worry about playing teams that are eliminated at this point is they usually pull every trick out of the book. Hopefully the Saints won't be too tight or on a downer after last Sunday. Just take care of business, week to week.

I gotta tell you, I want to win big this season, so don't get me wrong on this statement: Have you guys just sat and thought of the possiblities on NEXT season? With another solid draft, preferrably defensive, and Payton picking up some more key free agents? The cool thing about this year, is that I don't feel the pressure I usually have in this type of situation, where I feel this is it, we have to win a championship this year, or it won't happen. I think, honestly, that we have alot of great football to look forward too, in the coming seasons. BUT.... I haven't given up on this year just yet. : )

What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular.....

No let down with the Saints right now, I'm not going to say 100% we win out but I also don't see a melt down with this team.
The Saints are 9-4 and the fans are happy and looking forward to the Skins coming to town..
I have to admit, I talked a little smack with Cowboy fans on Monday, I loved it.

Well, I've had Vikings fans already tell me that the Saints look like a dynasty for years to come w/ Brees, Bush and Colston and possibly another receiver to succeed Horn.
