Saints vs. Chicago
 

If the Saints have to play the Bears up there do they have a legit chance to win if it is like 15 degrees and snowing. If they have to come to the Dome I seriously believe the Saints could win by 20. I worry about the conditions up there.

Payton has ordered special thermal-insulate coveralls with built in pads for players to wear in case we play in Chicago. :pink:

no.. seriously. I think that whatever climate conditions may be adverse for the Saints it will be equally adverse for the opponent. I don`t buy into the idea that northern teams are more acclimated to cold and snow and that gives them a huge advantage. Perhaps a small advantage, but not a huge one. Todays NFL teams are made up of players from a variety of regions across the US. Brees played at Purdue, thats not exactly a tropical climate. But I do somewhat share your concern.

The running game and short passing game will be critical, as well as the defense against in those stadium's January conditions. It will come down to whether our porous D can shut down their inept O.

I don't know about that cold weather philosophy. I remember the Bucs a few season ago. They couldn't beat a JUCO team, if the temperature was below 40 degrees.

Chicago has more than just a weakness behind center. That "amazing" defense has some problems as well. Honestly, the game plan we used against Dallas would be very effective I believe. Screen passes, short slants, and reverses. Keep the defense on the field, and make sound decisions with the football. Clock control, and staying out of third and long situations. Make no mistake, Chicago is just as beatable.

This is going to sound kind of weird, but is there any team in the NFL that is unbeatable??? Last time I checked, there are no undefeated teams in the league right now. Even San Diego has two losses, and they better hope they don't have to face Baltimore in the play offs. I like our chances against anyone. This isn't the same team that lost to Baltimore, or Cincy. They've grown up alot since then.

its going to boil down to who can run and who can stop the run. Do we have a shot yes, but some how we are going to need a couple of big plays.

short and mid range passing game is critical. colston would be key. he is use to catching a heavy/hard football

I posted this a few post down so I'll repost:
The Bears could easily lose to two of the last three. The Packers and Lions play the Bears pretty close. But lets not forget the last playoff the Bears won was against the Saints in 91 (if not mistaken) and since then they’ve been one and done. So if the Saints play them they should beat them although it may not be like it was against Dallas but none the least we’ll walk away winners

If the Bears don't get better on offense soon they won't have a chance winning in the playoffs, they'll need more than a good defense to beat the Saints, Payton will have his best game plan yet when we play the Bears.

I think the conditions will affect the Bears too. But, Payton will have them ready to play anywhere. Also the weather might not be that bad, who knows.

I do think Deuce will be a big factor if we go up there, but I agree the Bears may lose two more.

Will Smith & Charles Grant converge on Grossman one time and he is out of his game the rest of the way...They have weaknesses especially on offense...and dont think that Payton hasn't watched tape on the two teams that beat them and the Arizona game...My thoughts if young Leinart can nearly beat them then Brees oughta be able to to put them away and I think our D stands a better chance of holding on at the end....

They have not won a home playoff game since 91, they won one with a defensive touchdown back in 2001 or so, when their defense severly outscored their offense for the entire season
