It'll help focus on the teams weaknesses.
Our run defense is porous. It is possible to frustrate our offense. It looked a lot like a playoff game. It worries me a bit SFIAH |

And we aren't going to look past any team in the playoffs. The team showed zero emotion and thought they could just win by showing up. This was just a case of taking Washington too lightly, and we aren't good enough to take teams lightly. The team needs to learn to play just as hard against 4-9 teams as they would against 8-4 teams. Chicago just had 31 put up on them at home. The Giants are struggling with the Eagles and the Seahawks???? I live in Seattle and have seen every game. They are not very good at all. If we come to play our A game we can beat any of these teams. There's nothing they can adjust at this point except for intensity. The Redskins just wanted it more than we did today. This will be the LAST game we lose this regular season. |
RE: Re: RE: Will the Saints turn it Around after the Washing
I have to believe that the Saints will rebound from this loss, I think Payton will make sure of that.
Question: Why didn't we have anyone in the backfield on the last play of the game for us?, the Skins knew that it was pass all the way.. |
I was worried about this game all week. Since we were slapped around, it should be a wake up call. The D needs to be on and the O needs to hold on (to the ball). I'd rather have a letdown now & get keyed up for the streach.
|
Last time we had a letdown game(i.e. a game we should have won but didn't) was the Carolina game, or some would say the Pittsburgh game. It was clear that they weren't focused today. Reggie dropped passes. He never drops passes. Colston dropped passes. He never drops passes.
I just don't see them having another performance like this. |
It's like in the past, they kick ass on the better teams and they play sandlot football with the weak teams. The team that wanted it the most, won today. We could have had home feild advantage if the team that played the Cowboys had shown up.

Every good team has bad games, not just the Saints. We coulda had home field, and we can still have it. |
NO Pass Rush
Grant was doubled team most of the day, so somebody else should have been able to get to their QB, but they didn't. If he was more accurate it would have been much worse.
No blocking for Brees. Whatever they did for a pass rush in the fourth quarter , we will see more of it. Do we miss Hollis Thomas--YYEESSS--Big gains up the middle and poor tackling of Betts. They will bounce back, but this game showed their is a long way to go on defense and some polishing to do on offense. What a season they are having in spite of this loss. We have a solid football team that will only get better as they go. Another draft like this last one and they will be set for a number of years. At least we are in most games till the end, how many times was it a struggle to have to watch the Saints after a half of football with their tail between their legs and no hope with our old QB. At ,least with Brees and Bush, colston etc. we are in the game till the end. |
