RE: This Is What I

Yup you know what that is... Play us at home! We gotta defend the home turf better this late in the season. What concerns me is that after looking at our 2nd half record at home (1-3) I'd rather lose out and go on the road for the playoffs (just kidding!!!). We should beat the Giants on the road (Payback for last year) but that Carolina game worries me in that they are gonna come in here and be ready to beat us and I think that we might be looking forward a little and going into the playoffs with a loss is just poor for a team that wants to be a contender...

... ah!!! the dreaded "blueprint to beat X"...
... wonder how teams are going to implement the "Devery drop" defensive formation.

Here's what happened: The Redskins dominated the line, and Brees was pressured all night. It helped the Redskins that Shawn Springs and Sean Taylor uncharacteristically both showed up to play. That's a "blueprint" to beat anyone.
Yet, even that the Saints Saints line got handled all day, they had a chance to win it in the end.

One of the biggest game-planning challenges in the NFL is playing against a team that has great individual players, but stink as a team. There's not much film of them playing good team offense or defense, and every week you end up seeing a highlight of this player and that player... but occasionally, the stars align and they all show up to play at the same time, and win a game they should lose. If you look at the Redskins player by player, you can see the talent. Danny Snyder has spent a lot of money on his collection of high-priced free agents, and have a couple of 1st rounders who are good.

It so happens the stars aligned for them last Sunday, and I guarantee you, if the Saints could play the Skins again, they'd destroy them.

'Cause the simple man pays the thrills, the bills and the pills that kill

If only Washington had given Atlanta and Dallas that blueprint! Curses!

I loved the shots of the Saints fans, sleeping in the stands during the game. Many fans quoted as saying it was, "the most boring game of the season."

Ball control is a must in our game plan. In the games we have won this year, it seems as thought we keep their defense on the field for 8-10 minutes, and wear them out for the rest of the game. Long, drawn out, run, pass, drives, that eat as much clock as possible. Of course, it also helps when your receivers catch the ball.

Didn't Carolina beat us too??? I hope they don't start handing out blueprints either.

But anyone who saw the two games know that there is a BIG difference in the way that we were beat by Carolina and the way Washington beat us. The Redskins were the first team in the entire year to hold us to that many yards on offense and not allow Brees to throw even one TD pass.
