Giants..........
With a teamfull of Davidlike players it will only be fitting to beat the Giants. Here is my list of worries however...............
1.) Manning is looking for a great game to get back in the groove. 2.) Shockey wants the D@#% ball and if Cooley can rip through our lackluster D then UMMMM yeah so can Shockey. 3.) two words Tikki Barber. 4.) Is Strahan playing......I hope not. 5.) two more words...cold weather. I hope we come out with that cip still on our shoulders, so that this team can finally celebrate the greatest season in Saints history. |

RE: Giants..........
1. Elli Manning is not the Manning I'd be worried about...
2. Take care of 1. ( see above) and no need to worry about no 2 Shockey... 3. two words fumbles lost... as in leads the league. 4. Last word was no but listed as doubtful. 5. Weather effect both teams equally. I really like our chances to smoke these guys. They should be favored so take the points and the Saints go marching home!!! Playoffs or bust! |

RE: Giants..........
I find it interesting that AccuScore, which is only about 65% right, has the Giants a 60-40 favorite to win, despite dropping 5 of their last 6, averaging more turnovers and lower offensive production, an even more porous defense and no particular home field advantage.
To your points: 1. Manning is playing better, but the rest of his offense choses on which plays they feel like putting effort out. 2. More pressure, plus actually covering Shockey, who hasn't shown great ability to separate in man-coverage, will neutralize that threat. It's Plaxico Burress who's the threat. Make Manning throw downfield and that's where the mistakes come. 3. Tiki Barber won't fumble this weekend. He'll gain some yardage, but the guy the Saints have to key on is, in the red zone, Brandon Jacobs is a beast, and he won't fumble either. Make Manning pass the ball. 4. Even if he does play, he won't be particularly effective, and he'll probably reinjure himself in the process. No player has played in the season in which his specific injury has occurred, so... 5. Weather's going to be about 50 degrees with partly cloudy skies. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this is even better weather than would be in the SuperDome. The field will be a little wet, though, so muddy conditions at midfield will be an issue. However, I saw a lot of players slipping on the Field-Turf in the Dome vs. the Skins, so this may not affect the Saints as much as one might think. This Giants team is one that the Saints might have to face in the playoffs if they lose to them this weekend. Put them out of our misery and let them watch from the comfort of their MeatPacking District lofts. |

RE: Giants..........
I'm very concerned about this game. Euph is probably right. This is a desperation game for the Giants. They'll pull no punches and will give supreme effort until the final whistle. Their emotions will be very high to start the game and every strategy and tactic they'll employ will be to get straight to making body blows against the Saints, whom they'll probably figure will fold if if looks bad early.

RE: Giants..........
I think this is just as much a desperation game for us as it is for the Giants. One, we want a first round bye, and two, we would be at home for the second round.
I think the Giants are a dangerous team for the fact that we haven't stopped the run since hollis thomas went out. If we control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, I don't see us losing this game. |

RE: Giants..........
I'm really starting to believe the rumors, that this team doesn't like Coughlin as their head coach. I'm thinking they want him gone, and might actually be trying to MAKE it happen.

My biggest concerns are that the Giants need a win more than we do and are more desperate than us. We need to have high energy and excellent execution for the whole game.
The man to fear is Brandon Jacobs. |

The Giants do make big plays but it's the mistakes that's been killing them lately, dropped passes, interceptions on Eli's part, and the penalties.
If the Giants were to correct all of their problems I would say they have a chance in beating us but I don't see their mistakes fixed until next year.. The Saints had a bad game last week, Payton will have his club ready Sunday, I just feel it. If we win and the Cowboys lose it's Miller Time , and I mean a lot of them.. GO SAINTS!!! Tiki Barber will get pretty good yards against us but we'll simply out play them and in the end out score them.. |
Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.
