this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Did anyone hear if the starters are playing today?, "going for the win" IMO means the starters are in, how else could you win this game with all of you're starters on the bench.....

You can have the best play calling in the world, but the talent has to make the throws, catch the balls and make the tackles. I really do want a win today, but it's not looking good.

yea i kno that, and we dont have much talent on the field, so it comes down to play calling to use the players we have in to their best ability...and being down 14 isnt good for me......

To me this is a monentum killer!
You lose that home field advantage and now we have 3 weeks basically before another meanigful game for our starters.. 2 Non playoff teams come into the dome and win ( I know this one is not over yet ) It's frustrating. I know it's a tough dilemma and I want the best for the team, but I think the starters should've played a half. Great teams ( Colts ) Have a hard time to just turn on that switch that everyone thinks can just be flicked on at will. I thought we would've learned from that? Martin has been horrible. Hope the Saints can pick it up and all this is meaningless. Playoffs here we come! |

K I love seeing Mcaffee score! That was nice .Watching the Dallas game I realize it could be much worse and I feel better about the whole thing. Here's Dallas fighting for a div title at home, with their starters playing and Are losing to DET?

Exactly....getting our butts kicked before the playoffs isn't what needs to happen. I'd rather our starters played into the half at least.
Winning this game and maintaining momentum is just as important as keeping starters healthy in my opinion. |

[quote="GoldRush26"]Exactly....getting our butts kicked before the playoffs isnGoing 11-5 instead of 10-6 would have been much better. Momentum is VERY important but Paton may have something in store besides the norm for resting the starters
