IS MIKE VICK A COACH KILLER????????????
Dan Reeves brought the falcons to the Superbowl, Jim Mora Jr. brought them to the NFC Championship. I personally don't think so, but there's going to be a lot of talk about him being hard to fit in any one particular system. I don't understand what the problem is, he's obviously a tremendous talent, but seems like everytime his team take that next step, they take three steps back. I always thought Reeves was a great coach, and Mora was a real good young coach, so what the hell is the problem? They need to start looking at the front office, and the type of personal that they bring in. You think Jim Mora Sr. changes his thoughts about Vick now? I don't think so.

RE: IS MIKE VICK A COACH KILLER????????????
The problem is the exact same problem the Saints had before: Vick can't do no wrong. He's the anointed superstar who's going to revolutionize (6 yrs and counting now, didn't take Fidel that long) the QB position. Nothing is his fault. Add to that, the owner of the team is in love with him, and you have a bad situation for any coach. He's hard to fit in any particular system that requires a QB.

That job will probably be less attractive than the Cardinals job. Any HC worth his salt knows that's a no-win situation because he'll never be allowed to criticize Vick, coach him into a different style, or experiment because Blank is in love with him.

It's funny how some people think he is a "Coach Killer", yet they boo the person who first said it(Jim Mora Sr.), when he came to the dome a few years ago.

The biggest problem with Vick is now he will have to learn a new system, which is something he had to do almost every year. What ATL has to do is to hire a coach and let him do his job. I want pass judgement on Vick until that happens

No Vick isn't a coach killer.
The only reason Jim Mora lost his job is because he ran his yap all over a Seattle radio station about wanting the UW football gig. Bad career move. |

How about Aaron Brooks?? Art Shell will be gone as well.
I never realized how bad our quarterback was until I got to watch Brees on a consistent basis. He's too small, doesn't have the BIG arm, but he has a brain, and can make decisions much faster than other QB's. He knows the game and where his receivers are going to be. The line looks good because he gets rid of the ball. In Vick's defense, his receivers dropped numerous catchable balls this year, but he doesn't look like he understands whats going on. Neither did Brooks. Mora said it in an interview after he was fired, Personnel decisions were part of his demise--2 first round receiver picks that can't catch--an important talent for a wide receiver. We get a 7th rounder that has glue in his palms, and others that were after thoughts in the draft or were cast offs from other teams and they can catch. Luck?? Coaching?? Good personnel decisions?? |

Yes.....Vick is absolutely a coach killer. Everyone, including Falcons fans, knows Schaub is the better QB. That's why 6 different teams wanted Schaub in the offseason last year. Unfortunately, like Tobias said......Vick is the annointed superstar with lots of pull with the owner (probably the jersey sells, etc....). Vick may bring the fans, but who's going to bring the wins to the Falcons? Personally, I don't care. I hate the Falcons. Let them keep playing Smiley's cousin.

Just one tihng though, Jim Mora Sr. didn't actually say "Vick is a coach killer", he only answered the question the interviewer asked him, "Do You think Vick is a coach killer"?
And for what its worth, I agree with one of the posters above, Vicks not all that smart. |
