Chris Mortensen Chat on ESPN.com Saints questions
http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=14315
Russ (New York): The Bears won 3 more games then the Saints and are at home, yet everyone is picking the Saints to win this game. I know the defense has been suspect as of late, but why no love for the Bears? Does everyone want the fairytale season to continue or do you really think the Saints will win? SportsNation Chris Mortensen: (11:29 AM ET ) I think part of it is that people are rooting for the continuation of this "fairy tale" season but the bigger part is what you mentioned - the Bears defense isn't want it was...and the Saints can run the football. Underrated O-line and two great backs in McAllister and Bush... great QB.,..it should be a good game. I do pick the Saintrs. I was wrong on 3 of 4 picks this past weekend. In fact, I only got the Bears game right. ___________________________________ Ryan (LA): Mort, why do people say the Saints can't play in cold weather? Didn't Brees play is college ball in Indiana? Colston played up in New York? These are professionals and it's not like some of them haven't ever played in the cold. Some of the team is from up North. SportsNation Chris Mortensen: (11:32 AM ET ) I think the dome team in cold weather is always an intrigue. I discount the Brees at Purdue and Colston at NY. College seasons end the first week or so of November before winter really hits, then they're off to a bowl game in (usually warm weather. But the Saints went to NY on a very chilly, windy day in December and kicked butt. _____________________________________ Chad (Charleston, SC): Any chance the Saints trade Deuce McAllister after the season for a high draft pick or marquee name? SportsNation Chris Mortensen: (11:45 AM ET ) Uh, no. _____________________________________ Rick (NOLA): Mort, any word on Joe Horn playing this weekend? Thanks! SportsNation Chris Mortensen: (11:50 AM ET ) I think he has a chance...I guess really cold weather could be a concern. _____________________________________ |
