Might as well get the big spoon out...

Sean Payton would never put up with the TO B*LL S**T. Look at the players he has brought to the Saints, character guys, I dont think TO falls into that category.

THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR!

No, I don't see Payton leaving. I see this as a very good thing. A lot of the assistants and personnel will probably be changed over in Dallas - meaning the Saints will have a good shot at picking up players/coaches that Payton wants.

I spoked with my cousin this morning who lives in Kenner. Him and his fiance waited outside the airport to welcome our Saints home. As the caravan of Saints members drove out, the players were met with a smaller crowd of fans. Our boys were supposed to land at 10:30, but the flight was delayed until 1:30 AM. So there was a smaller crowd by the time they did get in. Players who saw the fans, honked their horns, and thanked their fans. My cousin got to meet Sean Payton amidst all this. Payton had driven slower along the side of fans, literally stretched half his body out of his car, and shook hands along the way.

When my cousin got to shake Sean's hand as he passed by, Sean looked at my cousin in the eye and said, "Thank You so much, this means alot to me." My cousin said it was a heartfelt genuine response from the head coach. So you see, there is no possible way Payton can get up and leave after a season like this. I've only grown to respect Payton even more after hearing this. He's done an awesome job with this team and given us a profound sense of hope for the future. WHO DAT BABY!!

Who would leave a team after 1 year? That makes no sense.

What ties does he have to Dallas? Very little, now that Parcells is gone.

Payton still has a little work left to do in New Orleans before he can worry about trying to build up another team.

he cant just leave... he is under contract... only way was if the cowboys offered us compensation to have him kinda like the raiders and tampa bay over gruden... in which the raiders got 2 first round picks...

dont see payton going anywhere anyway

I heard this on the radio while driving home and my first thought was......SHOOT, They may go after Payton. I don't believe Payton would leave, but I also don't see a thriving coaches market this year. I guess we'll see in time.

JeauxW 01-22-2007 04:41 PM

He wouldn't go...there is work here to be done and he knows he can get it done.

FatiusJeebs 01-22-2007 06:28 PM

Where did this crap come from anyhow?

pakowitz 01-22-2007 06:31 PM

wow... once again... HE CANT JUST LEAVE... dallas cant even talk to him without requesting permission from the saints that would be tampering and would be a considerable fine plus loss of draft picks from the cowboys plus there hasnt even been word that they are interested in him... its all media hype.. dont believe all the B/S

Quote:

Q: Did you call Parcells to wish him luck?

A: No, I called him about something else and he shared with me what he was planning on doing. Since then it's been announced. I was actually calling to discuss a couple of meeting ideas.

Q: Do you expect to see your name floated for that job?

A: No. We're like players. We're under contract. I'm happy to be here under contract with New Orleans. This is the spot for me.

Payton won't leave, it seems he loves it in N.O and knows he has a chance in getting to the Super Bowl one day soon, look what Sean did in his first season, he wants to build on that, not leave and wonder what could have been....
Let's not get a head of ourselves here, we just came off the biggest season in Saints history....
One play Sean won't want, T.O, no chance in that happening..

AllSaints 01-22-2007 08:10 PM

Payton is staying with the Black and Gold!!! Looking forward to next season....

pumpkindriver 01-24-2007 08:13 AM

Even if Sean could leave he wouldn't. He has done a helluva job down in N.O. and you can bet that he believes it is unfinished. With a few more of his player selections, we will become even harder to defeat in '07. For the first time in a while I'm looking forward to bigger and better things from the Saints.
Geaux Saints!!!

This is a no brainer... first Benson would have to give Cowboys permission to talk to Payton and that has not even come up. First year as a head coach and he accomplished more than any coach has ever did in the history of PRO sports, taking over a team with only 3 wins and lead them into a confrence championship game. There has only been 3 coaches to take over a team with 3 wins and lead them into the playoffs... one being Vince Lombardi (Heard of him?). Yeah Benson maybe not be the smartest person in the world but he ain't no dummy.
