Franchise tag values set for Samuel, Graham

John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, reports the New England Patriots would have to pay $7.79 million should they designate CB Asante Samuel as their franchise player this offseason, while placing the franchise tag on TE Daniel Graham would cost $4.31 million.

Now looking at these numbers horns contract is not so bad. He is paid less than a top 5 TE.

yes. That is true... But,
his cap number is also way too high for a third WR in this league.
I love Joe too, but the money doesn't make sense.

That is exactly why I say "Hello, Nate Clements. Welcome to New Orleans."

Nate is going to be in the same range.
1. Asante Samuel N.E. Patriots
2. Nate Clements Buffalo
3. David Macklin Arizona
4. Kenny Wright Washington
5. Phillip Buchanon Tampa Bay
6. Kiwaukee Thomas Buffalo
7. Torrie Cox Tampa Bay
8. Dexter McCleon Houston
9. Roderick Hood Philadelphia
10. Jamar Fletcher Detroit

Kenny may be the most reasonably priced one out there with experience. he is an upgrade at #3 for sure.
Does not answer the #1 question I know but opens up the draft a bit at CB.
Then again there is the RFA option
Randall Gay N.E. Patriots (injury)
Keith Smith Detroit
