this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If Brady Quinn falls a la Aaron Rodgers, should Saints grab him? I would and maybe trade his rights to a QB hungry team like the Bears or Ravens. Here's the article that got me thinking about this topic: http://www.fanball.com/buzz/article.cfm?id=9134...

RE: What if...
Yea that's a pretty BIG drop to fall all the way down to us... very unlikely but if he's there, take the BPA.

RE: What if...
No way we take him, even if he somehow dropped all the way down to us. We've got a $60 million QB who is in/about to be in the prime of his career. We don't need to be "looking towards the future" and picking him solely based on him being trade bait is risky if nobody bites. We have so many needs, it would be a terrible pick.

..well, neither the Ravens or the Bears seem "QB hungry".
..and Oakland, Cleveland, Minnesota, Miami, and Buffalo, teams with a glaring need for a QB, would have to pass on Quinn. Not to mention Jacksonville, Carolina, Dallas, and even Tampa Bay, who may not be in a glaring need for a QB, but could decide to pick him up and sit him on the bench for a couple years. ...and even if he did drop to 24th, still, the Saints have to go for defense. |
