Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the New England Patriots have placed their franchise tag on CB Asante Samuel. Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, reports Samuel's agent, Alonzo Shavers, said they do not look at the tag as a bad thing. He added it's a step towards working on a long-term deal.

good...i didnt want to see the saints spend money on him...any guy who gets a "Get Paid" tattoo on his arm right before his contract year isnt exactly my type of guy.
