saints sign pettis- wide reciever
don't know why anyone has'nt picked this up. in the dallas morning news today, the saints claimed him after a 10 day waiver period. the cowboys were trying to sign him, but under an new nfl rule, teams that own arena football teams- dallas, denver, and detroit must endure a procedural recallable waiver period when trying to sign a player from their afl team...........this gives other nfl teams a chance to claim a player thus keeping nfl teams that own afl teams from using the afl team as a farm......pettis- 6-0 195 had 69 receptions for 798 yds and 16 td's during the desperado's season......he also had 3 interceptions as a defensive back....... given the time to develope, coach joe avezzano said, will pettis can play in any league.........smitty
