this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Just saw on ESPN bottom line "Saints and Hollis Thomas reach 4 year deal"... I'm glad he's coming back, but 4 years seems to be a lot to me...

Just saw on ESPN bottom line "Saints and Hollis Thomas reach 4 year deal"...

nice to see him back for 4 more years. He's the first real presence we've had in the middle of the line in a while. I'd like to see us get a big young dude to help in the line like Long or Starks if they were let go or tendered low.

Saints | H. Thomas signs four-year extension
Mon, 26 Feb 2007 15:31:13 -0800 Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the New Orleans Saints have signed DT Hollis Thomas to a four-year contract extension. The deal totals $12 million with Thomas earning $6 million in 2007. 6 million this year and 2 million a year after that. not bad but any one here think he will be around at 37? |

He's a space eater, plain and simple. We need a guy like that, and I'm glad he's back. Piece #1 is in place. Let's see how the other pieces fall.

I am happy to see him getting resigned. Saints now need to focus to resign stinchcomb and work a deal with J. Horn, then we are ready for the FA and the Draft.
