Saints Hosting Many Free Agents

Saints Hosting Many Free Agents --
Sun Mar 4, 2007 --from FFMastermind.com

AP reports the New Orleans Saints met with two more defensive free agents Sunday and scheduled at least one more for early this week after initially hosting two others over the weekend. S Deon Grant and LB Chris Draft were the latest to be brought to New Orleans by the Saints, who also hosted LB Brian Simmons on Saturday and S Ken Hamlin on Sunday. Meanwhile, CB William James is due in on Tuesday, said his agent, Ron Slavin, who also negotiated DL Hollis Thomas' new four-year contract with the Saints.

How would anybody know? The guy hasn't played in 2 years. I think there are better options, like his teammate, for example.

At LB,
Atlanta was sorry it let Draft go, and I think Carolina will regret it too. Simmons is still a better option for us, bur Draft could add depth.

Anyone know if we plan on resigning Allen?

with hosting all these safeties...does that mean the team is not planing on harper coming back healthy or that they don't think he is the answer at safety?

It means that the coaching staff has lost faith in Bullocks, and after watching his performance this past season, I don't blame them. All of you that defended him, I laugh in your general direction.

I've been on Hood for over a year already... that is my first option as well. But if Hood leaves without a contract, I would not be disappointed in with James. He did start for the Giants after he was drafted and I thought he was a good two. Will Peterson changed his name to Will James.

As for Bullocks, I still like the guy. He hasn't progressed as everyone would have liked, but he is talented. I'm surely not going to give up on him yet. I wouldn't mind us bringing in someone to compete and push him though... competition is healthy.

I am worried to say this in fear of multiple shotgun blast, but I was not impressed with McKenzie at all this year far more than Bullocks. He's not at the cut level yet................. but IMO, he's getting close.

I really thought Harper and Bullocks were going to be the answer back there. Harper gets hurt and Bullocks needs work. I still think that corner is more of a concern though. I think Bullocks will continue to improve and so will Harper, but having a solid veteran that hasn't run out of gas will help.
