Hood plans to go to New Orleans on Wednesday.
Eagles free-agent corner Rod Hood was visiting the Arizona Cardinals yesterday, the day after going to Cleveland, agent George Mavrikes said. Mavrikes said Hood plans to go to New Orleans on Wednesday. Mavrikes said the Eagles have shown interest in bringing back Hood, their nickel corner since he made the team as an undrafted free agent in 2003. Hood wants a starting role and starting money, but that hasn't materialized so far, and it might not, Mavrikes acknowledged.

Being from the Philly area, I've seen him play ALOT in the past 3 years. Here's my take:
1) He's smallish, but quick. Primarily used in nickel sets, but could start for alot of NFL teams in the CB 2) He's got kick return skills. That would get Reggie off special teams where needless injuries to your RB can occur. 3) ANYONE is an upgrade from "Toast" Thomas! I'd like to see him in camp. |

Rod Hood would be a great signing IMO. Could give us a solid player with potential from an established defense. He and T. Fisher are two cats that have flown under the radar and would be good fills at a great deal less than 80$ mil.
Real happy with the FO thus far. Looks like they are ID'ing the guys they want and going after them, but not letting the hype around the name distract. I liked Porter too, but as was said here already, not really a fit for us like Simmons is. And why do I keep hearing about Simmons age in places? likeEdwards is a young pup or something. Simmons is a solid get and gives us a deeper LB corp than we've had in a while. And say what you want, Simoneau did the job. BTW, has any one heard from Hamlin anywhere? I mean, everyone else is listed as visiting here and there, but he supposed came to NO and I haven't seen anything else....did we 4400 him or something? I mean, I'm just sayin |
