I\'m all for it. I am surprised that the Saints didnt go after him earlier. I realize that his career is on the down hill slide, but he still has great skills and abilities. Ecespecially if he is able to come off the bench.

I agree. I think he can still be a productive running back and a good backup for Deuce. I also feel he could do a better job than Keaton. I know he\'s on the downside of his career but he could provide more experience at RB and allow the other RB\'s more time to mature.

I wouldn\'t want him back. He never showed much to me. I think Keaton isn\'t any worse but he is younger. I always thought Lamar sucked! He always seemed to be looking for a place to fall down. He didn\'t run with any power, seemed to easy to tackle or go down and just wasn\'t very impressive. Keaton hasn\'t set the world on fire either but hopefully now that he has had the time to learn the system maybe this year he will produce better stats. Keaton is a young learning running back, let\'s give him another shot unless something quality shows up and that\'s not Lamar Smith!

I liiked Lamar Smith as a player. His days are past though, younger faster is the order of the day here, Lamar is neither.

Lamar Smith didnt always suck. In 2000 he had over 1100 yards rushing with 14 TDs, in the best division in the nfl that year. If he only had to touch the ball 5-10 times a game, you wouldnt see much of a drop off in that position.

i agree with the kid on this one, keaton isn\'t any worse than smith would be and has more potential to be better, screw smith i never liked the guy anyway
everyone seems to mention keaton when talking about backup RB\'s but no one ever mentions fenderson, i think fenderson is pretty capable of playing the backup role, i thought he looked pretty good last year considering |

Actually, Rusta, I kind of did mention Fenderson but I just didn\'t use his name. I said Smith would be a productive backup and this would allow the other RB\'s time to mature. I realize noone here is a mind reader but I had Fenderson in mind as one of the \"other\" RB\'s. I also agree with you that Fenderson has good potential and has shown some of his skills when he has run the ball. I just think maybe a little more time will allow him to blossom.
