Foxsports 5 round mock draft
Check out the Saints picks
1. Greg Olsen TE - Miami 2. Eric Wright CB - UNLV 3. Quincy Thomas - LB New Mexico 4. Geoffrey Pope CB - Howard 4. Troy Smith QB - Ohio St 4. Marcus Thomas DT - Florida 5. Yamon Figurs WR - Kansas St http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6708920 I wouldnt mind seeing this draft actually shake out for us (although we might not have that third 4th rounder if the Colts match the offer for David) That would give us a terrific receiving threat at TE, a very good young corner, solid poor man's Urlacher type outside LB, blazing fast athletic phenom CB project, athletic backup QB, great DT although with some character issues, and one of the 2 fastest WR in the draft who can return kicks. |

I hope the team does not count a player out, just because other people say he has "character issues". These players are no more perfect people than anyone on this board. I hope the team gives them a chance to play, and the league helps them handle the pressure of being in the league.

All look possible and logical to me besides the Thomas pick. I don't think he'll be there either.

Prediction Pain

I'd crap my pants if the draft turned out that good. As a rule, I hate the Buckeyes, but I think that Troy Smith is going to come into the league with an enormous chip on his shoulder (good thing). The guy's not a prototype by any means, but was Flutie? How about Brees?
Granted, Smith was not the prolific passer that Brees was (is), but he has athleticism and big game expirience. The biggest negative in his career is the BCS game where UF destroyed him, but his go-to receiver (the only one that could run with UF) pussed out after the first play and the Gator D was playing the collective games of their life. I say give Smith a second chance in the city of second chances with the team of rebirth. Maybe there's some magic in there somewhere. |

Geoffrey Pope CB - Howard way high for this kid 4. Troy Smith QB - Ohio St They must have an inside contection for this one. 4.
