Franchise Tag?????????
Why do some players speak out it(Briggs CHI, Grant NO), while others don't say much about it(Freeney IND, Smith CIN). I DON'T CARE IF THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT IT, and I know about the issue of getting injuried, while not having a long term contract(the former WR for Green Bay, who got hurt, before going to Denver), that is understandable. No one on this board, would want to get hurt, while on a one year contract, if you played in the league. But my question is, why do some players say something about their dislike about it, even wanting to be traded, and others do not.
How do I put an avatar on? Thank You. |

As far as your avatar, go to user cp and download yours. As far as players griping about the tag. I can't answer that.

The franchise tag supposedly limits the player's ability to work their best deal.
Some players benefit, though, because they get top 5 money for their postion. Is Grant really top 5? Briggs? They are obviously upset, but this is probably the lowest contract they will ever sign, all because they got tagged. Maybe Briggs and Grant can start a support group: members must make a minimum of $8 million, and be the second player at their position, on their own team. I guess I don't get it either. |
