How would trade up to 27?
Just wondering if you guys and gals have any thoughts on this? The players that come to mind that teams from the top of the second would trade up to 27 to get. Only Three come to mind.
1. Trent Edwards is he really ski rocketing to the top second? Could Baltimore be willing to take him in the first? rumor has it so. 2. Joe Staley is the 3rd best OT in the draft. NE is looking at him in the first. 3.Brain Leonard is also romured to be a target of NE in the first. well what do you think? tampa, buffallo, oakland, rams, detroit? We would get at least the top pick in round 4 from oakland. |

I certainly would not be opposed to trading down. I think there isnt that much if any dropoff for any of the players that most of us in the forum would like to see drafted to the guys that we could still get if we traded down. Houston or Ross vs Wright isnt a dropoff. Bowe or Jarrett to Smith, Craig Davis isnt that much of a dropoff. Also, by trading down we could certainly add more depth to both the lines where you can never have enough depth, through gaining additional picks. If we traded down and still some of the late first-early second round guys that we covet, I would be content. Also, if we are looking to move Charles Grant, we could throw him in and acquire even more picks to work with.

I wouldn't mind at all seeing them trade down to get better value for guys who might be a reach at 27 (like Wright or McCauley if all the other CBs are gone) and try to stockpile some depth in the middle rounds.
