I'm OK with the pick since he did burn Chris Houston a few times. Offense is the strenght of the Saints and additional help at WR can't hurt.

YES!!! I am so confused about alan branch, i thought saints might take him since he was considered a top 15 talent but something must be up, last i heard (and what i have been hearing all along) is that he could go anywhere from washington to st. louis. SO CONFUSED, anyone know anything?

If you look at the draft so far though, alot of teams that were expected to go offense, went defense with their first rounders, so in the second and third, expect those same teams to go offense, leaving more defensive players available for us. The draft is a crap shoot anyway. Colston is absolute proof of that. This is where the important picks start...

Branch's stock had fallen a lot in the last week or two. The reason that most people have attributed his fall to is his complete lack of production (just 25 tackles in 2006). I'm thinking somebody like Jonathan Sullivan? Huge, but not motivated.

I'm not a Meachem fan and had him on my bust list... hopefully I'm wrong and this all works out. I thought there were plenty of other guys that would have fit well here that we passed on. I had us taking a WR/OL first, at least I was right on that.

Now that Meachem is on board, I'll root for him and wish him the best. Hopefully Payton will make this guy a star in our offense.
