wasnt Evans a project last year? Didnt he start from day 1 and not only that, he became a dominant G. I like the fact that the Saints took athletes at CB who started for 4 years and all they need is a bit of teaching. That is what all the Saints assistants are...teachers. Everyone in the NFL is good, its just that some teams have better teachers than others...and the Saints are at the top of that list.

Alan Branch DT MICHIGAN

Ok you got a top 15 talent drop into your lap and your run defense stunk. When Thomas was out the DT rotation showed it need something. Well Branch is a whole lot of something. I like a WR. We will need the extra points again this year.

Some analysts see's a potential trade in the Saints future with some of these works in progress...

"Impact: Wow. Meachem is generally considered the most talented all-round wideout in the draft, and he is a big steal for the Saints at this point. The question is whether they really need him. New Orleans already has several excellent wideout options for their pass-first approach, even with the recent loss of veteran Joe Horn. Meachem has the talent to battle for a starting job (even on this team), and gives an already-deep corps even more downfield depth. There is a chance he (or another Saint) could be traded, since New Orleans has more pressing needs elsewhere."

Come on, was the Saints drafting players to come in and start day one? No. For the first time in this team history they were drafting for depth. and with the later round picks that what they was doing. Meachem will start and with out seeing the two CB I can bet they can not be worst then Thomas. And to add I don"t think our needs on defence is so pressing that we need to trade anyone right now.

My point is what was more important to gettting this team better depth wise, drafting TWO project offensive lineman and yet another running back or bringing in some youth for our defense? You be the judge.

...if if if if if if if if if...

It's the NFL, not fantasy football. Every team loses someone at some position every year, and every team in the NFL is on the same boat: teams will lose 2-3 starters at some point in the season, and more often than not they will not have anyone the fans perceive as being any good as a replacement (that's why they aren't starting, right?).
Besides, If they drafted Some Player and, say, Fujita went down in week 8, you'd say "this guy is a rookie, he can't play the position, trade for someone, etc. etc. etc." regardless of who he was.

Last year people were freaking out because of the number of safeties., complaining there they didn't address the LB's. What happened? Payton got 3 LB's in August, Saints went all the way to the NFC championship.

This year people (well, you ) are freaking out because the Saints didn't draft 4 CB's and 3 SS's and traded for 3 DT's.

Until proven otherwise, I have complete confidence in this coaching staff and F.O.

'Cause the simple man pays the thrills, the bills and the pills that kill
