Bobaganoosh Got a Question for You.

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Got any other info on the street FA or practice squad players from 06 that the Saints are high on, that we have not talked about? There has to be more than Boykin....

John Clayton from ESPN said on SC last night that the only team that Keyshawn "could" realistically play for at this point in his career is the Saints but nothing more was followed up.

He says that KJ could get maybe a mil with a mil signing bonus if the the Saints were interested. John also said KJ wanted to play for a team with a realistic chance to go deep into the playoffs and a proven quarterback that will utilize him.

...and it should be told that just because Clayton mentioned this is no reason that the team has expressed any interest.

Is there any room on the roster for Keyshawn and his, well, "Keyshawn-ness"??

Is he a better option than Patten?

If he could get 70 catches from Delhomme, he could easily get 70 from Drew...?

Overall---- Would he make us better..

KJ seems to have matured the last couple of years.(Cowboys & Panthers) Coach Payton does have a history with KJ and has a penchant for big receivers. I could see the Saints signing him to a 1 year deal, to see how it works out

I havent heard any other names other than Boykin in regards to last years street FAs. I also havent heard anything regarding Keyshawn. thats not to say the Saints arent interested. I do know that yesterday the Saints signed Will Poole. I dont know if you guys remember him, CB from USC a couple years back. Drafted by the Dolphins in the 2nd round i think. Tore up his knee...but the saints signed him to come in for the rookie minicamp pretty much as a tryout. We'll see if he can cut it or if he just lost a step after the injury.

It's all in the reflexes.

Hell, you're looking at lineup of Colston, Patten, Meachem, Keyshawn, Devery, Copper and I guy I'm rooting for McKnight. Not too shabby, imho. Speed and size. And let's remember this, he has played in two of our division rival's offensive schemes. Tampa AND Carolina. I'm sure he has a little insight that would give us a one up.

Very very true. Also, dont forget that with Keyshawn you are getting hands down the best blocking receiver in the league. In our offense with the speed of Meachem, Henderson, and Bush, a WR that can block like Keyshawn only further enhances the big play potential. Now on either side of the field if one of our speedsters gets the ball in their hands and a block from Colston or Johnson on the corners, there isnt a man left on the field that can catch our speedsters. If the price is right, I think it is a terrific move.

Hines Ward might have something to say about that.
