McKinley Boykin info
DT McKinley Boykin, 6'0, 288, was an undrafted free agent signee of the Saints in 2006, one of many such players added again to the Saints' offseason roster. Boykin quit the team during training camp, rejoined, then quit again. The ever-patient Saints are giving the former Ole Miss Rebel a big shot by sending him to NFL Europa, where he can audition for all 32 teams.

He was once promising, but if a coaching staff believe in you more than you believe in yourself it's hopeless. I say cut him lose, we'll better off finding someone else to fill the spot.

It was my understanding that he left TC last year in good standing with the coaches. That he would be welcomed back. Reports in TC last year were that he couldn't be blocked. I have high hopes for him, and WT. what a rotaion we would have if these two work out.

Yeah he's really good. I read a article and Payton and co. was high on him and was glad to see him back. I think he can make the roster

I think he is under contract to us. We allocated him to the NFLE. So he is ours. He left camp for personal issues and was welcomed back. Shawn has to see something in him. He was not waived at all last year. So many of those PS guys were. Branch was cut twice and not picked up so he stayed with us. So there has to be something there. We did not even risk it.

I have been watching for him on NFLE and they aren't playing him much. So I'm a little worried if he can't make the starting rotation on a semi-pro talent level team...

If memory serves me correct, there were several coaches giving this young man high marks in camp last summer. I guess his first step was explosive and could cause havoc in the backfield on a regular basis. (Wish I could find some links to what I read back then).
