A wise man once said, "you can't drink all day if you don't start first thing in the morning." I like the draft on Saturday. It's a good excuse to start drinking at 10am and besides, the first round is like 6 hours long.

Roger Goodell might need to cool it a little. The NFL was fine under Tags, and by "fine" I mean "the most sucessful sports league on the planet". His disciplinary system where he is judge and jury is ridiculous, The notion of holding the Superbowl outside of the US is absolutely retarded and this is just another example of him tinkering with things that are fine the way they are.

Oops...I just got suspended for three games.

I understand the need for longer times in the first 2 rounds, but 15 minutes per pick is too long. It's too long to watch and I'm sure it's too long for teams to have all their personnel assembled just to sit and wait.

The actual speed of round 1 was about 12 minutes per pick. I'd say cap it at 10. Rd. 2 give 7 and then 5 the rest of the way.

I agree, I hate his disciplinary system the players want play hard because of it, playing in other countries doesn't make sense with the NFL being popular here. He will mess everything up.

disciplinary system

disciplinary system I am all for it. Prevent the ones that come in and think you are a player in the NFL and you can get away with anything you want should not work! Some of the players seem to be using the money and fame to get away with things in the court systems but at least someone is going to make them accountable for there actions. I am all for giving someone a chance but if you blow it BYE BYE!

Euphoria, you are right that the NFL needs a means by which to punish poor conduct, but it's not okay to have the same person (Goodell) bring the charges, hear the charges, mete out the punishments and hear the appeals. There will be a backlash from the players, and the players are the ones that fill the seats.

There needs to be a check and balance system. Maybe the players' and/or owners' can form a tribunal or somthing of the sort that can hear the appeals or hand out fines and suspensions.

Well I guess that is because I don't think the players are doing anything wrong. All someone has to do, is say a player did something and that is it. There is another reason that they are being picked on. I wonder why the NBA and NFL are dissed , but the NHL and MLB are not.

Military is the same way (NJP), you don't have to have evidence all you have to do is be accused and the Commanding Officer just has to feel or believe you did it.

I don't think anything has changed... the commissionor was always able to suspend a player for whatever. They can challenge it through a review board. The only real difference is the punishment is harsher now days.

Agreed. It is so ridiculous waiting all that time
