Being an undrafted free agent, the odds are already stacked against Thomas. And if you factor in his off the field issues and track record, it makes it even more difficult. Would I like him to make this team? Of course I would... he has the size we need in the middle. Will he? Realistically... probably not. I hope he does land on our practice squad so we can develop him.
I think Lake showed enough last year to warrant a spot as a rotational guy on our line. If I'm not mistaken, Leisle is suppose to be one of the strongest guys on our team. Last year was pretty much the only year he got any playing time and I think he can be a decent backup. |

big walt
If he has a good camp he will never clear the wavier wire to go on to the pt squad. If he has a bad camp or is cut in camp no one will want him.however from what i have read if he gets his head screwed on anworks his butt off he has the talent of a first day draft pick.

I didn't mind what I saw of Leisle last year. Seems like a blue collar type similar to Brian Young and should be a decent rotational player. I also liked what Lake had in his opportunities. But if Thomas can show some consistency I definitely like his potential better than the other two guys. They pretty much are what you see. Career back ups.

I remember when Leslie first came here, he and some fans said he would replace Sullivan as the starter. Now look what has happened.

Lake and Thomas, if he shows up and plays even remotely to his potential. If not, then Lake and Leisle.

I don't know his work habits but, unless A Lake ticks Payton off by coming in out of shape or something, I think the Saints would want to hold onto him regardless of if Thomas (the new one) makes the roster or not.
