Saints | Haslett Happy With Offensive Line - from www.KFFL.com
Wed, 2 Jul 2003 09:46:51 -0700

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports New Orleans Saints head coach Jim Haslett and the rest of the team are convinced this year's offensive line will be even better than the previous two units. Despite losing OL Willie Roaf (Chiefs) last season and OL Kyle Turley (Rams) this spring, the team feels they have any even better unit now. "We've got a lot of flexibility, versatility now, and people we're comfortable with. We'll be fine," coach Haslett said.

I\'m not one of those people that beleive that the Saints offensive line has been one of the best over the last 3 or 4 years. I think that overall they were average.

I think this years line has the potential to be dominant. Why? Because Turley is gone for one. The guy might have had a nasty streak and played with passion, but all I saw was him getting beat more than he should have. Wayne Gandy is an upgrade here in both run blocking and pass blocking.

Victor Riley, in my opinion has the size, talent, and power to be one of the best. If he is the player that the coaches thought he was when they broght him to New Orleans, we will have 2 great tackles.

We are set at the guard positions with Le Charles and Falou.

I\"m looking foward to seeing Brooks having the time to look at his 3rd and 4th reads. Aren\'t you? I\'m also looking foward to seeing Duece running through wide lanes like Emmit Smith use to(the one\'s John Madden said you could drive an 18-wheeler throgh). Arent\' you?

We need a nick-name for them though. You know like the redskins had for the Hogs.

How about Buc Killers? Afer all, we did kill two trophy Bucs last year.
