Lance Legree
The best thing I can see is he is an experinced backup that got most of his playing time as a backup. Though he was with the Giants from 2001 to 2004 and did see some good playing time. Playing time increased each year as did his production. 20+ tackles and 2+ sacks. NYJ picked him up and 2005 and he did the same type of results. He ended up in with SF for part of 2006

Looking to shore up their depth along the defensive line, the 49ers signed sixth-year veteran Lance Legree on Saturday to come in and compete for a roster spot along their defensive interior. With Jerry DeLoach out with a knee strain, Legree will be tried on the nose in the team’s 3-4 system but also could see time at end in some situations.
Legree was not with the team during Saturday’s intra-squad scrimmage, but he will take part in Monday’s two-a-day practice sessions when the 49ers resume training camp after a player’s day off Sunday.
The 6-foot-1, 300-pound Legree spent his first four NFL seasons with the New York Giants, starting 21 of the 59 games he played with the team. He spent last season with the New York Jets, playing in all 16 games with four starts before being waived by the team in February.
Legree is a sturdy middleman who also can provide some push in the pass rush. He has 134 tackles and seven sacks in 75 career NFL games, including a career-high three sacks with the Jets last season.
With DeLoach out and his status uncertain with a medial collateral ligament strain - he‘s expected to miss the next 2-3 weeks of practice - Legree will put the heat on second-year veteran Ronnie Fields for the third nose tackle/swing end the

That about sums it up. I am sure Shawn knows more about him than we do. They both have that NYGand NFC east conection.
