Fielkow as Director of Administration; Feb. 3 - Former Saints assistant coach & defensive coordinator Jim Haslett was named as the Saints' 13th head coach in the club's history; Feb. 23 - Saints signed former San Diego Chargers DT Norman Hand to a 5-year deal ... it was the 8th free agent acquisition of 2000, marking the busiest offseason in club history & placing them at the top of the league in free agent activity; March 9 - Saints named Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. as their new summer training camp home; April 15 - Saints picked Kansas State DE Darren Howard in the 2nd round with their 1st selection in the NFL draft; July 31 - The club traded LB K.D. WR Willie Jackson tied a NFL postseason mark with 3 TD catches & QB Aaron Brooks threw 4 TD passes ... the win was clinched after the Saints' Brian Milne recovered a fumbled fair catch by the Rams' Az-Zahir Hakim with 1:51 remaining after a New Orleans punt. There's a lot of similarities between last year and 2000. |
