Predictions - NFC Playoffs
Slow day, so I figured I pontificate a little bit. It's probably still a train wreck at the bottom with only 2-3 clear cut playoff teams. Here's my NFC playoff projections:
NFC Playoff Teams: 1 - New Orleans 12-4 - No Explanation Needed 2 - Dallas 11-5 - TO is rededicated, Romo's got a year under his belt. Defense will be tough as usual, but can Roy Williams learn how to defend the pass? 3 - San Fran 10-6 - I think Smith has a good year on the heels of Frank Gore's running. Willis gives a spark to the D. 4 - Chicago 9-7 - Da Bears need to thank the lord that the NFC North is total crap. Minnisota or GB may sneak up on them. 5 - Seattle 9-7 - Quietly effecient year with Alexander healthy. 6 - New York Giants 9-7 - Who else? Even with the loss of Barber, Manning's got targets all over the place, he's gotta be able to hit one...right?..right? Plus Strahan's finally thru that nasty divorce. |

Harder schedule leads to typical Saints letdown
8-8... Yup I'm a Saints fan and I know it.

I don't know about the records but add the Philly's to WhoDat's list and take out the 49ers. I think they'll go 9-7 just barely missing the playoffs.
NFC Championship game will be New Orleans vs. Philly/Seattle. |

Seattle 12-4. They will dominate the NFC West and have credence from the majority of their schedule. However, their playoff jinx continues due to poor preparation.
New Orleans 11-5. They mature into the solid unit we've always hoped and go to the Bowl. Payton will have his troops grounded and they will hopefully have all the hometown assistance they need for the NFC Championship game. Dallas 10-6. I don't see much of a future with Wade but the talent the Cowboys will supersede any hurdles. They falter early in the first round. Carolina 10-6. The Panthers have too much moxy to let last season get to them. I look for them to challenge the Saints for the NFC crown. Chicago 9-7. I have to pick someone from the North so by default I pick the Bears. They are too mired and indecisive to be much of a threat. And it has nothing to do with Grossman or Johnson. San Francisco 9-7. They come on strong but trip a little heading into the playoffs but I look for them to win a first round game and then drop. |
