• Ending the Green-to-Atlanta rumor: Persistent rumors to the contrary, the Atlanta Falcons have had zero conversations with the Kansas City Chiefs about the possibility of acquiring quarterback Trent Green in a trade. It's become fashionable for some reason to speculate that with Vick's problems off the field and the potential for a suspension in 2007, Atlanta officials would jump into the Green derby. Fashionable, but totally erroneous. Until the Vick situation is resolved, he remains the starting quarterback and continues to have a very good spring under first-year coach Bobby Petrino. Should he be suspended, veteran Joey Harrington will become the starter. It's that simple. No hidden agenda, no secret talks where the Falcons' brass panics and tries to acquire another veteran quarterback, nothing. Said one Atlanta official: "It's a bad rumor that needs to be put to rest."
One flaw in the premise: Because of his $7.2 million salary for 2007, and the need for any team that acquires Green to rework his contract, the veteran Chiefs' star has some control over where he lands once Kansas City officials decide it's time to make a deal. And Green has made it clear his preference -- in fact, the lone team he will consider, he emphasized again last week -- is the Dolphins. Why would Green want to go to Atlanta, where Vick would return from any possible suspension as the starter, when he can be the No. 1 guy in Miami for the entire '07 season and beyond? |

There is no way. This is only rumor and has no basis in fact. Joey Harrington will be the QB is something happens and that's all I have to say about that.
Let's get off Vick, because as soon as he's convicted Bubba will be on him all day, everyday and the hard way! |
