Gleason

Despite a report that Saints special teamer Steve Gleason would have minor knee surgery on Tuesday, he underwent a microfracture procedure.

He'll be out at least eight weeks and is a strong candidate for the PUP list or possibly even I.R. Gleason had been entering a contract year in 2007.

Special teams were not exactly stellar last year, and it seems like we were already changing a lot of personnel before this injury- Deloatch, Scott, Clark.

Hopefully we will be spending a lot of time in training camp, as we will have several new faces on coverage.

...he blocked a punt and set the tone for the perhaps one of the most memoriable games and that game could have been the game to have turned this francise around. Give him a chance to rehab before you kick dirt on him already.

Kickin' dirt on him?

My point is that our best ST player probably won't be ready for the start of the season. And, we were not exactly stellar on coverage when he was in the lineup.

Were we?

Gleason is not dead yet. Though, He is on life support.
We have brought in alot players as back ups to address ST play. I can not wait to see this group put on some pads. Then we can see if the saints will pull the plug on Gleason.
I like him, evey year he goes under the axe and escapes. He is a scrapper so do not count him out just yet.
