Saints moves
I am sure you all know that the saints signed David Jones today. And i am glad to see some of these picks getting signed early on in the process instead of waiting till the last minute. And i am sure you guys know the Saints pulled out the axe and cut Dejuan Groce...and i just want you to know that he isnt the only veteran getting cut before camp...keep your eyes peeled because there will be a few more....

nope did not know that. Dejuan getting cut is not to surprising though.
Hey Bob can I look at the FA list next year to get an idea of who may get cut. There are alot names on the list that could be replaced with other 2 year contract wonders. It would make sense to shorten that list before next year. |

Have you heard if we have any interest in Darius? He is offically free agent today and I would expect the Saints should have said yea or nay by now to pursuing him.

Here is what you guys have to realize about the saints situation at safety. They have invested two high second rounders on safeties in the last 3 years...and they spent 10 million on a 3rd guy this year with Kaesviharn...Darius would cost even more to bring him in. So first of all, he is going to get big money somewhere to go in and start...the Saints cant throw big money at him, nor can they ask him to come in and compete with the young guys. So i dont think a saints move for Darius is in the works.
Also, when i mentioned some more vets getting cut soon, Michael Lewis got the boot today...and there is more to follow....like i said...stay tuned. |
It's all in the reflexes.

I have listed the 2008 FA a few times already here. So far the cuts seem to be following players listed to be FA. I thought the 2007 draft-FA-UDFA seemed to address alot of the positions that were listed. It makes sense to me. simplify 2008 FA, upgrade with youth and save some moneyin 2007 while your at it.
sorry to see the beer man go but I can not waite for his first beer comerical |

I think Brian Young sticks this year...as far as next year goes, i think he may be back at some capacity but he wont be coming back with a guaranteed spot on the roster, let alone a spot in the starting rotation.
