Look I am knocking Drew at all but he has a long way to go in the "takening a beaten on the field" department. I hope he never has has too. If he does we would not be talking superbowls here. Nobody wins with that kind of OL.
Like I said there is room on the pedistal for more than one QB legend in new orleans. Each will have thier own clam to fame.
Heck I like Chris Evert myself.

Yo hagan, I not only watched Archie, my dad and uncle used to do business with the Saints back in those days and I still have my official Archie Manning autographed helmet, along with a whole lot of other autographed memorabilia. I have a Archie throwback jersey, along with my Ricky Jackson, Sam Mills, Vaughn Johnson, Pat Swilling, Dalton Hilliard, Eric Martin, and Wllie Roaf, that I do not wear. Archie Manning is an icon period, but Drew would become a GOD if he's able to bring a Championship home, I have all the love and the utmost respect for Archie, he will always have a place in my heart. But to perfectly honest with you Archie is not my favorite all-time #1 player in Saints history, he's definitely one of them, but my all time #1 Saints player is the Hall Of Fame snubbed Ultimate Warrior Ricky Jackson, talk about GUTS and TOUGHNESS, nobody in the Black & Gold had more.

I can't see how or why we are even discussing this issue. Two different era's, different styles, talent level around qb's. You can't even begin to compare.

Nothing else worth talking about.

What do you mean? ESPN best NFC ratings, LJ in the Black & Gold, Madden 08, Madden curse, overated/underrated players, and my favorite, is Reggie a once in a generation player...

Okay, you're right. There actually isn't anything else to talk about.
I love Brees, but I will never take down my framed, autographed Manning jersey.

It started out as a discussion between Drew and Payton, somehow it swung to a discussion about Drew and Archie. As far as nothing else worth talking about, this is a football forum in the off-season, almost any subject is worth a post or two just to make the time past, we still have 30 days til players report to training camp(July 25).

Well said! We gotta talk about something. I even enjoy then the MADDEN talk. (shrugging shoulders) it's the off-season.
