I\'m not too overly concerned, it\'s still a while until the first regualar season game.
What I am curious about is how all the Brooks bashers on here feel about not having Brooks this year if something serious were wrong. I think it kind of puts into perspective just how valuable Aaron Brooks really is to the Saints. |

bc, i would not think twice about letting bouman have a yr to see if he has it.....brooks dazzled the hell out of me when he came in but he has not proven he can take us to the promised land yet........i don\'t care if he\'s 3 for 40 with 10 interceptions as long as that last completion seals the victory..... that\'s when he has my respect and my backing... as i said before, you can throw the statistics out the window, they don\'t mean crap...........i\'ve lived through too many pretty defeats......i\'ll take the ugliest victory you can hand me, cause a win is a win.........and i don\'t wanna see him do it for half a season, i wanna see him do it time and time again.....i don\'t care if every offensive player screws up, the quarterback should take the blame....he is the general on the field.....the leader to lead........give me 11 hokies and i\'ll show you a game you\'ve never seen before because it would be played with all heart and determination and they or he would be the first to admit it was their fault when they screwed up.....let him wipe that sillly sh#t eating smile off his face and show me heart and determination.........you have to realize his weapons are an extention of himself, he needs to utilize this to the fullest extent. i am not sold by any means yet.......and if the coaches are, or say they are, someone is blowing smoke up someone\'s as#.......we are paying him top dollar, let\'s have some top play...........smitty

And if Bouman flops.............then what?
It is well known how everyone on here feels about Brooks. We won\'t cover it again. I just hope to see Aaron completely healthy. [Edited on 9/7/2003 by BillyCarpenter1] |

The thing about it is, I just feel like 2 1/2 years is not enough time given to Brooks to warrant putting in Bouman.
Team that are successful at building a championship teams are patient with a quarterback and don\'t pull them in and out like Ditka, which proved to be detrimental to a team. Smitty, If Brooks does not produce this year, then I say he\'s probably not the guy. I\'m not saying he has to single handily take use to the Superbowl, but he must improve in the needed areas. This year we are a legit superbowl contender and Brooks gives us the best chance, in my mind. Bouman may very well be the man like Tom Brady was and if Brooks struggles too much this year or is hurt, I say put him in. |

i actually thought when they brought in collins we had a hellava chance for going places.......in some games he was flawless...........he dazzled me as well but when it came down to it, he did not have what it takes........the bucs would have never won the s.b. had it not been for their defense and a lot of luck......and i mean a lot of luck..........injury wise, they fared very well also, again, a lot of luck..........bucker and dead wood can rave all they want because they did win the superbowl, but the saints were by far the better team...........smitty

Collins did take the Panthers to the NFC championship game and the Giants to the Superbowl, I think is a very talented player. He had a lot of off the field problems when he was with the Saints. Also, Ditka is a QB career killer.
I agree totally about the Bucs. If the Buc fans are so sure that they will repeat this year, they should go bet some of their hard earned money and put their money where there mouth is. I\'m sure Vegas would give them at least 2 to 1 odds. |

you missed the point, he choked, he failed, he missed his chance........after watching him for many years, he does not have what it takes to get anyone there.......look at past superbowl q.b.\'s......with great defensives to aid, they pulled themselves off the ground and did what it takes...........they did not give up........archie manning was one who could have taken us all the way with 1/2 a supporting cast had he had one.......this was a man who got the crap beat out of him and pulled himself up to let someone beat the crap out of him again....he did not give up...........the terminator if you will......i want to see this in a. b. or whoever who won\'t give up. elway, another, montana, bradshaw, aikman, etc..........brady was in the right place at the right time, he does have heart and proved it, my hat off to him,,,,,,i\'ve always agreed with mora, woulda, shoulda, coulda,.......it does not mean crap in the win column.....give me heart and determination and you can count the days when we\'ll be there...........smitty

Look, Kerry Collins took the Giants to the Supebowl. Was is all his fault that they didn\'t win it? Kerry Collins pulled his career out of the gutter to take the Giants to the Superbowl.
I guess you think Jim Kelly wasn\'t any good either. he failed just like Collins. I think I understand what your trying to say, which is, Brooks it not a fighter or a competitor. That\'s a personal opinion based off what you have heard in the media, because his team mates and coaches say just the opposite. |
