Saints | Brees in top five of money earners in 2006
Tue, 3 Jul 2007 16:08:38 -0700 Larry Weisman, of USA Today, reports New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees earned $22 million last season, making him the second-highest paid player in the NFL in 2006, according to an annual survey of player compensation. And worth every penny to me! |

Nice. Now when he takes the Black & Gold Nation to the Super Bowl there will be a move to make him the highest paid player.

I think his contract was front loaded on purpose to avoid a big future cap hit if his shoulder didn't heal as anticipated. A brilliant move by Loomis and Ball.
IIRC he will be a bit cheaper (smaller cap hit) in 2007. |
